(Many fans of Hank Williams, the Drifting Cowboys, and Bibb Promotional have made inquiries about the "early" "young" life of Hank, Sr. Here, Bibb Promotional seeks to provide a link to those answers as a service to our website visitors. If you have comments to or questions you would like answered by "Jimmy Porter", please direct them here for "personal" response from Jimmy himself.)
At the tender age of only 'thirteen' and the youngest member ever hired by Hank Williams to play in his band, "ALABAMA HALL OF FAME" Achiever, "JIMMY PORTER", lived, worked and toured with Hank Williams, Sr. and his mother "Lillie" from 1941-1944.
During that time Jimmy saw and lived with a side of Hank Williams that most people either ever knew or do not remember. A true friend of a "Legend" that looks on him to this day with the greatest respect; as an honest, simple, ordinary man that loved living among the honest, simple, ordinary people he knew. Hank Williams truly was "ONE OF THEM.".
Thank you. We appreciate your visit and hope you will come often.
